What Reid Ferguson’s wrestling finisher should be

Folks, we at Trainwreck Sports have just posted our first 69 with Reid Ferguson (brought to you by Picasso’s Pizza). MANIAC asked the Bills longs snapper who would win in a WWE-sanctioned match against his brother, and Miami Dolphins long snapper Blake.

As today is Summerslam, this got me thinking about what Reid’s finisher would be if he hopped into the squared circle.

A spear?

It’s widely known throughout the NFL for returners to get out of bounds when they see Reid Ferguson hustling down the field. He has a total of four count ’em four tackles in his NFL career. I think a spear could easily get the three count for Ferguson, but we also need to think of the safety for his opponent.

Fans at home also might get Ferguson confused with wrestling legend Goldberg. Both men have similar hair situations as well as identical physiques.

One of my other issues with this is that the spear is a pretty common finisher, and we need something a little more unique for our guy Reid.

Belly-to-belly suplex?

Now, this one might seem weird out of context, but the Bills long snapper delivered a picture-perfect belly-to-belly suplex on a Jets player in 2022.

While the video located below shows Reid getting pushed down (he was ready to play football not wrestle), he fights back and wins the battle.

While I do like this move, I see it as more of a signature for the Bills’ long snapper. I could see this belly-to-belly move used to set up his finisher, the next move on this list.

A double axe handle from the top rope?

If you look at recent history, former NFL punter Pat McAfee used a punt kick as his finisher in NXT and on the main roster. This opens the door for Reid to capitalize on what got him into the NFL.

I think a double axe handle from the top rope would obliterate any opponent set in his way. Look at the velocity that Reid riffles a football between his legs. You are telling me that Reid doing that motion from the top rope onto another person’s cranium wouldn’t result in a win for #69?

This move would pair well with Reid using a belly-to-belly to stun his opponent as he starts his ascension to the top rope. I would also approve of this finisher as it would be unique to Reid.

This is a move that lets him use his best asset, and stay in character with a long snapping related move.

What do you think?
