The universe wants me to go to Arkansas

I have been doing some last-minute research on my upcoming road trip and I just keep getting signs that I need to be going to Arkansas.

I feel as though I am getting a similar feeling that Joseph Smith (yes, that Joseph Smith who created the Mormon religion) got when he moved from Western New York to his eventual destination of Utah. While I will not be guiding followers across the country as Smith did, all signs are pointing that I should be going to this random state.

You may be asking yourself what these signs could be, and while they aren’t gold tablets (I promise this is the last Mormon reference) they are great reasons for me to be going out of my way for Arkansas.

My two favorite music artists in the world are Chappell Roan and Maggie Rogers. I was lucky enough to see Chappell play last month, and it was by far and away the best concert I have ever been to.

I haven’t been able to see Maggie play yet. So, I was looking at her current tour and noticed she would be in Arkansas around the same time I would be headed back through that part of the country. I felt that I should also check Chappell’s tour, and she plays in Arkansas the following night.

Was this a sign from the stars that I should alter my trip slightly to see my two favorite artists on back-to-back nights?

If you haven’t heard any songs from these two, I HIGHLY suggest you give them a try.

While I do not consider myself to be a religious man, I have been known to take my CoStar a bit too seriously at times. For those of you at home snickering over that, I am telling you this app is either run by a higher power (the stars) or the CIA is a lot more powerful than I thought.

This detour does make my drive back a bit more difficult (two 8-hour days of driving), this trip is a once-in-a-lifetime thing that I feel like I have to wrap it up in this fashion.

Tickets will set me back a bit (thank you Chappell for blowing up recently) so maybe I can get MANIAC to expense this for me for content. If you are reading this MANIAC, this would make a phenomenal blog and would definitely make our money back and then some…

My ride back home didn’t have the same pizazz the rest of my trip does, this little detour to Arkansas may be the right ending to my journey.

Now I don’t know too much about the state, but if you do, please let me know where I should go. Any cool small towns or great restaurants, I want to hear your best suggestions.

Do you think I should find a way to see my favorite artists here?
