‘The Mandalorian’ Continues to Show As Far as Star Wars…This is the Way

Galaxy’s Favorite Duo

FOOLLLKSSSS, hope you are having a great start to your Saturday. Despite a lackluster 2020, we’ve been treated to some great documentaries and tv shows along the way. One program with particularly high expectations was Disney’s ‘The Mandalorian’ a series that captured our brains with amazing storylines and our hearts with the cute oversized ears of then ‘Baby Yoda.’ (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD)

I wouldn’t say that Season 2 got off to a slow start 6 weeks ago, but it just didn’t have that #MandoMagic that Season 1 provided. Not only were there cute interactions between Mando and BY, but there was tremendous world building as we cascaded across the galaxy learning about the ways it was evolving along the way.

Sure, seeing Mando wrangle some space creatures, fight off giant spiders, and fend off the New Republic X-Wing “Police?” have been fun, but where was the impact that Season 1 had?

We’ve gotten our answers these past couple weeks. Following repairs on Nevarro, (OG City in the series, featured in Season 1) Season 2 has officially taken the wood to the sequel trilogy by GIVING FANS WHAT THEY WANT and continuing to build what they have.

.

Last week, it was the re-emergence of fan favorite Ahsoka Tano. We saw that our favorite padawan from ‘The Clone Wars’ series was still out fighting for justice in the galaxy, and had some nice moments with Baby Yoda who we now know is Grogu. We were reminded of how truly frightening a trained jedi could be, with some awesome action sequences where Ahsoka and Mando brought an unruly Magistrate to her knees. Just when you think you’re full of delicious Star Wars, we got a Grand Admiral Thrawn namedrop!!!!

And that brings us to this week’s episode. OHHHHHH BABY like an excited Peter Griffin I gotta say it. BOBA FETT BOBA FETT BOBA FETT. For those of you who aren’t Star Wars diehards, you have to understand Boba Fett’s place not just in the Star Wars lore but in the overall scheme of pup culture in the early 1980’s. Boba was the bad guy introduced at the end of Empire Strikes Back, had an awesome action figure and years of hype, and was then defeated when Han Solo accidentally haywired his jetpack.

“I’m Back, Bitch” -Boba Fett , probably

With all that taken into account, what transpires in the most recent episode is essentially 4 decades in the making. We finally see up close and personal what the legendary Boba Fett is capable of as he disperses seemingly a legion of stormtroopers in an effort to escape with his armor. Doubly redeeming, he now finds himself in service to Mando with the abduction of Grogu, and it seems like their adventures have just begun.

With Fett in the fold, the group going after Grogu, Thrawn Gideon and co. out there…what will happen next in The Mandolorian?? The good thing for Disney, we can’t wait to find out.
