Sweet 16: WM X7-WM X

In no surprise here X7 handles X (13-4) to move onto the Elite 8. WM X7 was just magical inside the Astrodome. X was good as we saw the first ladder match and Bret Hart win the WWE championship, but TLC and SCSA winning the title were even better.

Sweet 16:WM 21- WM 23

WM 23 will squeek by WM 21 with a 10-7 win to move into the next round. Yeah I mean Cena-HBK was an amazing match. Batista-Taker was excellent and Mr. Kennedy winning the Money in the Bank was great. 21 was good too, but it doesn’t measure up to 23.

Sweet 16: WM- WM 22

The Original WM goes down in the round of 16 with a 11-6 loss to WM 22. Nothing against the older WMs, but the excitement isn’t there like it is for the more recent WMs. That could be because the generational shift or it could e that the WWE is trying to get better. Compare the two Manias here. Original had 9 matches and none of them I have never seen any highlights of. 22 though I have seen a lot of from Mysterio getting the job done for Eddie to newly announced WWE HOFer Rob Van Dam winning the Money in the Bank.

Sweet 16:WM 34- WM 35

KofiMania, I mean WM 35 takes down WM 34 10-7 and will face WM 22 in the next round. I feel like Kofimania was something that I didn’t see being as big because of the end, but the dark horse has emerged. WM34 was kind of a downer compared to what it could have been, but was still a good WM. 35 had Triple H-Batista, Miz- Shane, and Rollins winning the Universal Championship. Which they all make up for the end. RONDA’s SHOULDERS WERE NOT DOWN.

Sweet 16: WM 31-WM 26

Here we have the biggest upset of the tournament, so far (it will be hard to beat this). WM 26 downs WM 31 9-8 to move on to the Elite 8. I thought that 31 was the 2nd best Mania of all time, from beginning to end it performed. Not well enough to the fans though. Jericho-Edge, Cena-Batista, and Taker-HBK were enough to move 26 onto the next round.

Sweet 16:WM 28-WM 29

In a battle of the Cena-Rock matches, WM 28 takes the cake 10-7. This one was puzzling to me as I thought 29 was better. I think that people liked the Triple H-Taker Hell in a Cell was better than I thought. The early 29 matches must have been worse to other fans or they thought the first Rock-Cena match was better than the second.

Sweet 16:WM XXX-WM 33

Yestlemania lives on with a 13-4 win over WM 33. Daniel Bryan’s night is probably what moved this ppv on, but there were some other great matches. Taker-Lesnar (saying that with gritted teeth) and John Cena-Bray Wyatt were also right there to help the PPV do better.

Sweet 16:WM XX-WM 7

In the biggest blowout of this round WM XX wins 15-2 to send the last non-2000s WM out of the tournament. I mean the older WM don’t really compare to the new ones and this was just another case of that. WM XX had the best moment in WWE history (I will probably say that each round) and John Cena’s first championship win. It was a great March night.
