By: Donovan Holden

In week fourteen the Association gave us a high-energy and explosive guard from each conference. The Western Conference stand out is arguably the fastest player in the league when dribbling the rock, and scored in bunches this past week for his team. The winner from the Eastern Conference is referred to as “Scary” because of a playoff series against the Bucks, and he is having a career year with his new squad.

  • Team: Sacremento Kings
  • Stats: 36.8 PTS, 3.5 REB, 5.5 AST
  • Team Record: 4-0

De’Aaron Fox is the first King’s player to win this award twice in one season since Demarcus Cousins in the 2015-16 season. Fox carried the Kings on an undefeated stretch in week 14, he also went 4-0 in the first week of February when he received his first honor.

This past week Fox led the league in scoring and did it while shooting 64% from the field. Fox also averaged 2 steals per game hence the “Swipa the Fox” nickname he took on early in his career. Fox’s best play of the week was a pass he launched full court to his teammate Harrison Barnes who hit a buzzer beating 3 for the win.

Terry Rozier wins Player of the Week for the first time in his career, and has been balling as of late. Allowing the Hornets to still be fighting in the middle of the Eastern Conference without his backcourt mate LaMelo Ball. In one of his performances he racked up 11 assists marking that the most in his career. He also added a season high 10 rebounds against Phoenix on March 28th.

This season “Scary Terry” has done everything from score 40 points in a game to hitting step backs at the buzzer for a Hornets win. He has really embraced his role as one of the true leaders within the team, and before injury was playing excellent alongside rookie teammate LaMelo Ball.
