6 opponents down. 1 to go.
It all seemed a bit in doubt Thursday night. THe NFL was kicking off and absorbing attention. It seemed that Jessica Pegula had run out of steam as she floundered helplessly, losing the 1st set 6-1 in quick fashion.
But then something happened. After getting broken early in the 2nd set and facing another break, JP held. That momentum quickly turned as Pegula went on to break Muchova 3 out of 4 service games on her way to a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 triumph to head to the Finals.

It’s fitting that Pegula, who has been looking to break out, would face some of her most adversity before reaching the biggest stage. All eyes now move to Saturday night, where she will compete for her first major. Fanduel currently has JP as a +245 underdog, roughly exactly where her odds were before her upset win last round against Swiatek.
