Pittsburgh Steelers wide out Chase Claypool had himself one hell of a rookie season. The former Notre Dame Irish caught 62 passes for 873 yards and 9 scores. Not bad for a rook. It sure does help with you have Ben Roethlisberger throwing the ball 50+ times a game and JuJu-Smith Scheuster on the other side of the field. The Steelers second round pick of the 2020 draft was doing a good job of making himself available to the fans. He was active on Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and even has his own Youtube channel.

Chase is the Robin to JuJu’s Batman. Claypool would join JuJu in his Tik Tok videos, and would even record his pregame dances at the 50 yard line. Everything was great during the Steelers 11 game win streak to open the season, but when they lost 5 of their last 6, someone had to take the blame. A lot of that chatter surrounded JuJu for his pregame antics as some saw it as a sign of disrespect. Opposing teams used it as bulletin board material, and it definitely worked.

The Steelers lost their last two games of the 2020 season to the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield. Claypool is on the record saying the Browns were “super classless” during the Wild Card game. After the Browns ended the Steelers season, Claypool went on social media and said the Browns are going to get clapped in their Divisional matchup against the reigning Super Bowl champs.

This of course came after the Browns blasted “Corvette” in their locker room post game.

Claypool attempted to back track his comments when he joined Adnan Kirk on DAZN in Canada.

Understand this all happened in the heat of the moment, and that Claypool is only a rookie, but sometimes it is just better to tuck your tail between your legs and keep moving. It’s great that he is sticking up for his teammate, but if anything, let JuJu do the talking. He is the one who brought this on not only himself, but the entire Pittsburgh Steelers football team.
