- The UB men’s hoop team takes on Western Michigan today in Kalamazoo at 2:05 PM. The game can be seen on ESPN+ or locally on the radio on ESPN1520.
- After a two week shutdown, the UB men’s basketball team got back to winning with an 86-69 victory over Ball State.
- Junior Josh Mballa dominated the Cardinals with 19 points, 19 rebounds, and six assists. That performance earned him MAC Player of Week honors.
- UB comes into today’s game at 4-3 (2-1 MAC) as Western Michigan has struggled at 2-7 (1-3 MAC). The Bulls dropped their first conference game of the season to Bowling Green before wins over Miami (OH) and Ball State. Western’s lone MAC win came against rival Central Michigan. The Broncos lost to Ball State on December 22nd by a score of 76-68.
- UB has five players who average double-digit points per game. Jonathan Williams leads the way with 19.3 ppg while Jayvon Graves and Mballa round out the top-3 at 17.1 and 15.0 ppg respectively.
- Mballa leads the Bulls with nine rebounds per game while Williams averages eight. UB leads the MAC with 44.7 rebounds per game.
- UB averages the sixth shortest time per possession at 14.3 seconds per possession. WMU is the opposite as they are 319th in the nation in adjusted tempo per Kenpom.
