Brandon Beane Defends Buffalo Bills 2025 Draft Picks in Morning Radio Interview

This morning, Brandon Beane, the Buffalo Bills general manager, went on a rant on the Jeremy and Joe show on WGR Sports Radio 550. His rant was directed at fans and media criticizing the Buffalo Bills 2025 draft selections over the past weekend. The biggest concern was that Brandon Beane and his staff did not address the wide receiver room.

This has been a notable storyline in the past couple of years, especially from the Jeremy and Joe show, but what we heard from Brandon Beane this morning was out of character.

The general manager was feeling the pressure of this draft and this upcoming season, but he also has a lot of valid criticism towards the fan base.

Buffalo’s offense averaged over 30 points a game last year, and there’s an argument to be made that the expansive receiver room has improved from years past.  Amari Cooper wasn’t that good last year, it’s possible that Josh Palmer will be an improvement on Cooper, it’s also feasible to believe that Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman will be better than they were in the years past. The room theoretically is just better on paper if you put down even marginal improvement for the two young players And the issue of this bill team last year, especially once we got to the AFC championship game was there inability to cover see Elam; Kaiir and their ability to get to the quarterback so what they do they drafted three defensive line in and three cornerbacks.

The Bills decided to take a swing and try to improve this defense. The goal was to get better, get younger, get faster, get stronger, and, in this blogger’s opinion, he took the necessary swings.

Beane executed the perfect draft. Would I have liked a swing on a wide receiver? Sure. But this does not mean selecting a wide receiver: build up Keon Coleman and give him the utmost confidence this year to go out and play freely and be a star.

It gives a confidence boost to this entire offense, which has already proved to be one of the best units in the NFL. Time will tell if that’s true.

I will have draft grades later this week, but Beane knocked this raft out of the park if you ask my opinion. This morning, he needed to let some steam off, but also warned the media and fanbase to watch how they approach criticizing this regime. It’s been a pretty good relationship between the Front Office and the press through the Beane tenure, but the pressure cooker is on, and IMO, criticism has been unfair.

This team is REALLY close. I know people are sick of hearing how close the Bills are (for their entire existence), but the 25-26 Bills team doesn’t need to carry the generational trauma. They are writing their own story. And this season is one of redemption. Don’t forget how close they were. It may seem like it always works out against the Bills, but there are plenty of examples of a team like the Bills getting closer and closer and then finally breaking through and winning the big one.
