Jim Boeheim Is A Miserable Old Man

BY: BRIAN WOLF

Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim went on his radio show Wednesday night and said he doesn’t expect the Orange to host UB in the future. The old-timer voiced his frustration with the trash talk coming from the Bulls players during the game and the complaints after the contest.

“Buffalo trash-talked the whole game,” Boeheim said. “They were trash-talking after the game. So there’s no way they’re ever going to play here again. We don’t need that, and it’s not very representative of what you should do. They’re up there, ‘Well, we should have won.’ No. You play 40 minutes. Then you play an overtime. Who is ahead at end of the game is the team that should win. That’s the team that should have won. Period.”

Cry me a river, Jim. I highly doubt CJ Massinburg and RJ Barrett were not talking trash when they were dunking against your 2-3 zone back in 2018. Rewatch the tape, and you will find your own players talking trash as well. Is it safe to say that the game has passed Boeheim? Trash talking has been a part of the game for decades, and Jim throwing a stink about it, will not end it for others.

The real reason Boeheim does not want to host UB again is that he knows the Bulls are a legitimate squad who can come in year in and year out and defeat the Orange. The Bulls went into the dome on Dec. 18, 2018, in front of many fans that made the two-hour trip and won by double digits, outscoring the Orange by 16 in the second half. Then Bulls coach Nate Oats said after the contest, “We’re the better team. We play harder.” I’m sure that comment did not sit well with Boeheim.

Boeheim has been known to schedule an easy non-conference schedule and rarely ever leaves the state of New York until January. Remember when the Orange lost to Division II school LeMoyne back in 2009? I sure as hell do.

Good luck the rest of the season Jim, and count your blessings fans are not allowed in the dome, because if they were, I would attend a game at the dome and heckle you and your players.
