McDermott is Here to Stay! Signs Extension through 2025

Sean McDermott, The Pope of the Process, is here to stay in Buffalo for the long haul.
The Buffalo Bills’ fourth year signal caller has inked a 6 year contract extension through the 2025 NFL season.

Personally, I AM ALL THE WAY PUMPED UP. FEED ME MORE PROCESS! McBEANE 2020!
In all seriousness, this is a well-deserved contract by the man who’s brought more success to our franchise these last 3 seasons than the previous 20 and was a Coach of the Year finalist last season.
Before signing McDermott in January of 2017, the Buffalo Bills were severely lacking stability at the coaching position ever since the departure of Marv Levy after 12 incredibly successful years in 1997. Since then no coach has lasted more than 3 seasons with only one (a 21-27 Dick Jauron *gags*) earning a second contract

…but then McBeane came into town to bring us salvation.
Since Sean McDermott has been the Buffalo Bills’ Head Coach he has brought us such graces as:
– A WINNING RECORD! Since his arrival, we hold a 25-23 (.521 win %) regular season record, which is the first winning record (outside of Anthony Lynn’s 1-0) since Wade Phillips from 1998-2000.
– HE ENDED THE 17 YEAR PLAYOFF DROUGHT! McD led the Bills to a 9-7 record in 2017 which was enough (thanks to some help from Dalton) to earn us a wild card berth. Since then he’s made the playoffs in 2 of his 3 seasons.
– THE POPE OF THE PROCESS! McDermott has spearheaded the installation of a new, winning culture in a locker room that desperately needed it. “The Process” is a mindset and attitude that started to be implemented in 2017 and has grown since to be embraced by the entire city. When Coach McD says things like,
“This foundation combined with true Buffalo toughness and love for one another will be instrumental as we continue to chase our vision of bringing a championship to this city.”
I just want to run through a brick wall.

– A DEFENSE LIKE NO OTHER! McDermott made a name for himself in the NFL as a defensive coach and coordinator in Philly. Then moving on to Carolina and becoming their DC from 2011-2016 where, in his final season, their defense and Cam Newton led the Panthers to a 15-1 record and an appearance in Super Bowl 50. His success, experience, and most importantly his leadership all made him a perfect fit for not just the Bills, but the entire city of Buffalo.
– HANDS OF STEEL…I mean you ever seen this guy clap? He’s a machine. I think I saw him clap for 6 straight minutes once. And his handshakes? Forget about it. Emasculates anyone who has that pleasure.

So the Buffalo Bills have their coach of the future locked up. A win-win for both sides as McD has earned this extension while showing he wants to be a part of Buffalo. The Bills got their HC of the future, who the organization as well as the fan base both have the utmost confidence in.
Now we focus on extending Brandon Beane as well. The McBeane saga in Buffalo has been short, but just so lucrative. Players want to play here again. National media recognizes we exist. These guys have brought FUN back to Buffalo Football along with a culture of winning, respect and pride and I am here for ALL OF IT.
“The Process” isn’t some gimmick, it’s a culture and mindset that the 716 has full embraced thanks to Coach McDermott.
