Going into the game Tuesday, I’ll admit I was a bit nervous about not really knowing how the game would play out. Our schedule was getting jerked around all last week. I didn’t like not knowing if we would play on Tuesday, or play the Chiefs on Thursday.
Did it make you wonder if having to plan for both the Titans and Chiefs might screw the team up mentally? What about all the injuries? Even with Tre’Davious White, Matt Milano, and John Brown out, I felt we should have won.
The Titans hadn’t practiced, or even played a game in over two weeks. We should have won easily, right? Nope! 42-16 Titans.
It was my first game I have watched with my girlfriend, who made some killer dip on chips! After eating, we turned on the TV, and AJ Brown had JUST scored a touchdown. So, right off the bat a bunch of ugh-sauce. It was such a sloppy game. There were lots of penalties. I really don’t fault Josh Allen on the first pick that bounced off Andre Roberts, outside of the fact that he threw it TO him!
Stefon Diggs is a catching machine, but really couldn’t get anything over the top. Cole Beasley showed up in the second half “minus his tackling skills.” Gabriel Davis had a nice touchdown, nullified on a questionable penalty. TJ Yeldon does nice things, but the fumbling issues overpower everything, IMO. The defense couldn’t set the edge, or do much of anything, letting Ryan Tannehill escape at will.
Sigh…We all could’ve gone without Josh Norman getting stiff armed to the moon! I told my girlfriend “Great, we’ll be seeing replays of this all week!” Buffalo, down 21-10, had one last drive of hope late in the 3rd quarter. That ended in a BAD interception by Allen to Malcom Butler, who returned it all the way to Buffalos 12 yard line. We couldn’t run worth a damn. Defense was lacking depth like no other. Behind their starters, it was very thin. We need to get linebacker help! Lorenzo Alexander anyone!?
All in all, 4-1 is very good. Buffalo is still on top in the East. I’d be shocked if we play this badly on Monday against the Chiefs, who are coming off their first loss as well. Let’s all hope the injuries to our key players are just short term, because we need them! Or else they need to go out and get help! I realize, Le’Veon Bell probably won’t be an option, but I wouldn’t be mad. Just sayin…
