‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Promotion Continues to Give Fans What They Want

The Bad Boys movies for me are kind of a throwback to my middle school days. Playing Xbox Live for hours on end, watching sports til after midnight on weekends (ok maybe not much has changed) but also doing so to the ‘Shake Ya Tail Featherz’ track from one of the greatest sequels at the time, Bad Boys II.

Seriously the song is fire (despite Diddy’s 2002 involvement) and the beat gets you going instantly. And that was what Martin Lawrence and Will Smith did for the 2000s…dominated the entertainment industry until eventually they linked up nearly 20 years later for a pair of BB sequels.

You don’t need me to tell you that the theaters have been struggling, especially in 2024 as even ‘sure things’ aren’t guaranteed to profit on their budgets anymore. So what did Martin Lawrence and Will Smith do? They rolled out the promotional tour, starting with an appearance at a Marlins game:

Then obviously letting everyone know the Miami star power in this thing in the form of Messi and Jimmy Butler:

There was even a BTS release showing some cool cinematography they were able to attempt ion this film:

Finally, what an experience to leave the theaters…only to see that you were watching the movie with the star (in this case Will Smith)

Just a very cool experience and the ultimate ‘I’m glad we went to the theater for that one.’ moment.

So what’s all this mean? Well truly I thought the 3rd Bad Boys was a cash grab…but seeing the passion and obvious work they’ve put into making this happen, I may check it out before seeing Ride or Die later this week.
