From the article:
Recognizing the financial impact for the community and wanting to host a high-profile event at their new venue, the Buffalo Bills plan on bidding for the 2028 NFL draft, Pete Guelli, the team’s executive vice president and chief operating officer told The Buffalo News.
“We’ve seen the success and growth of the draft in other markets,” Guelli said. The draft “is the kind of opportunities we’re going to pursue as an organization, and we think the city of Buffalo would be absolutely perfect for this type of event.”

I will hit the brakes before I go off on a tangent. The article does make it very clear that the expectation is just that they are ‘trying’ to get in the mix of potential applicants, it doesn’t even sound like it’s been submitted yet.
However, there is legitimately ZERO.ZERO doubt in my mind that this event and any thought of a 2020s NFL Draft in Orchard Park would be an abject failure that would reflect poorly on the Buffalo Bills and the Western New York community as a whole.
Start from the inside and work your way out, when was the last time the Buffalo Bills successfully worked with large groups of people…even within their own fanbase?
Oh and btw….how are those new PSL’s going at the stadium that is barely a quarter done?
So needless to say in a variety of ways the Bills haven’t been able to satisfy/appease their own fans…now we are going to try to do so with 500-700k people coming into WNY/OP for 3 days? Are we serious?
I love Buffalo and I will always champion this city. Kudos to us for shooting for the stars and applying, but hosting an NFL draft anytime in the immediate future would be an embarrassment that Buffalo just does not need to endure.
