Entertainment Weekly Gets First Look at Obi-Wan Series and IT. IS. GLORIOUS!

Folks!!! Hope you are having an amazing start to your humpday. Those familiar and strong with the force are used to us releasing new recaps of WhaT’s TrainWreck WaTching on Wednesday, our most recently reviewed series being Book of Boba Fett. (with all due respect to Peacemaker)

The Disney “transition” for Star Wars has been one filled with more trial and error than the Death Star, with Rogue One and Mandalorian having success while the Sequel Trilogy and Solo left more questions than answers. (verdict is still out on BoBF, I loved it)

While all these projects came and went, one that had been talked about for years was seemingly finally coming to fruition. A standalone series based off everyone’s favorite Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Ewan McGregor perfectly aged to re-take the mantle as Obi-Wan and momentum from the recent live action series, fans were ecstatic to catch their first glimpses of what the series less than 100 days away might hold.

Of course, we won’t get the asthmatic assassin right out the gate in this series (although Hayden Christensen is confirmed for this first season) so who will our boy Obi-Wan be facing off against? Inquisitor? Thrawn?

Moses Ingram will play the Force-Sensitive Inquisitor, Reva

I consider myself a diehard Star Wars fan, but I have no familiarity with this character or her role in the SWEU. The article expands: “They share a common dark-side goal,” Ingram says about the villainous trio of Reva, the Grand Inquisitor, and Darth Vader. “They’re on the same team.” As for what stands out most to Ingram about her big bad: “It’s all heart.”

Needless to say, I’m very excited for this series and building on the recent success of Star Wars projects, outside of the sequel trilogy.

If they can stay in their lane, play off the source material and the 1000s of things fans want to see, this should be a no doubt slam dunk of a series.

There has been a lot of Star Wars hype recently between what the Big 3 (Filoni, FAVREAU, Waititi) have been able to accomplish. Will Obi-Wan follow through on that outside of their watchful eye? Time will tell because for now the hype is real and ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is less than 3 months away.
