What a Sunday it was folks!
Week 17 in the NFL had HUGE entertainment value. A lot of antics, dramatics and follies ensued this Sunday as the season is nearing completion and the Captain’s here to fill you in!
1: AB’s mid-game meltdown.
In what some are calling “a million dollar” tantrum, Antonio Brown did his best Antonio Brown impression and took off his jersey and pads while making a flashy exit against the NYJ. Bucs HC, Bruce Arians stated that AB is no longer a Buc which puts me and Antonio Brown in the same conversation for the first time ever.
“Finally, Antonio Brown and I have something in common— Neither of us play football for Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”- Captain Ferdinand.
2: Jalen Hurts almost gets hurt?
After a hard fought win, Jalen hurts was making his way to the tunnel when he almost has his legs taken out by his own stadium! In your typical “Dan Snyder ran operation” fashion, the sidewall barriers at the tunnel collapsed, nearly taking out Hurts. S/O Hurts for pulling fans out of the wreckage while some took the chance to get an up close and personal pic with the QB, disregarding the chaos surrounding them completely.
3: OBJ beats a guys ass (literally).
After an interception from Matthew Stafford intended to Odell Beckham Jr, OBJ tries to make the hustle play and rule the defender down by contact via an ass punch. While this is an unorthodox maneuver it still got the job done and the Rams go on to win a nail biter 20-19. However… this only begs the question: is OBJ a T or an A guy?
4: Matt Ryan scrambles for a TD but Poyer gets the last laugh.
Matt Ryan peddled his old wheels into the end zone to make the game versus the buffalo bills a close one. After a red zone scramble the score appeared to be 29-21 and it looked like the falcons had life late into the game. However, after review it was ruled that Matt Ryan’s knee was down at the 1 and it was consequently 3 and 15. Shortly after the call, the Falcons go on to fail at scoring and turn the ball over on downs. The bills go on to win the game 29-15 leaving the spread (-14.5) on the hook at .5– which was a heartbreaking start to the day for an eventual abysmal day for Captain’s Picks!
