Pain. The Bills Mafia showed up and showed out per usual last week in Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, the Bills forgot to show up for the first half of the game. Sloppy and erratic offensive scheme along with the defensive line getting chewed up in the run game led to an embarrassing 24-3 deficit heading into halftime.
The Bills could not put together good drives and it seemed like Tom Brady could tear apart our defense with his eyes closed. Something clicked for the Bills coming into the 3rd quarter. Allen had an 18 yard touchdown run with 7:29 left in the third to make it 24-10 and from there it was game on.
The Bills made an incredible comeback and were down 27-24 with one final drive left for the Bills. Josh Allen put the entire city on his back in the second half and it felt like he was destined to drive the offense down for a game winning touchdown.
This would have been the case if it wasn’t for the jokes in stripes that claim to be referees. During this holiday season, I just wish for someone to hold me like the Tampa Bay secondary holds Stefon Diggs.
It is just inexcusable that none of these were called in the most critical point in the game. The Bills had to settle for a field goal and hope for the best in overtime. The Bills won the coin toss and I thought the Bills could put together a great drive with the Tampa defense completely gassed, and we go 3 and out.
Bills fans have faced this scenario countless times in our lives. Tom Brady with the ball to drive down and win the game. The Bills got the Bucs to 3rd and long early in the drive in overtime when the refs who decided to not throw any pass interference calls on the Bucs secondary, called a horrific pass interference call on Levi Wallace to give the Bucs a first down and then we all know what happened after that.
Not much else to say besides we got absolutely screwed at the end of the game and we can’t lay an absolute egg in the first half against the defending Super Bowl champions. The Bills fall to 7-6 and we really need to win out in our remaining four games. The Bills host the depleted Carolina Panthers this Sunday and hopefully can put together a complete and dominating performance.
