Happy Monday degenerates! Last week was an up and down roller coaster of a week but we were able to come out positive with a record of 8-7. Starting today and for the rest of the week, we will look to keep the momentum going and have ourselves another winning week!
Overall Record: 17-22-1 (-8.1u)
Last Week: 8-7 (+.3u)
Presbyterian (-3) vs Charleston So.
I’m not going to waste your time with an in-depth analysis between these two teams. The fact of the matter is they both aren’t very good, but Presbyterian is slightly better. Presbyterian (7-13, 9-10 ATS) ranks slightly better than Charleston So. (2-18, 7-12 ATS) in offensive and defensive efficiency. Presbyterian shoots the ball at a better percentage from the field (42.2% to 40.9%) and commits fewer turnovers a game (15.6 to 16.6). It’s also worth noting that Charleston So. has only beaten one D1 team this season and is 0-8, 3-5 ATS in its first meeting vs. a Big South opponent.
The Citadel (+8.5) at Mercer
Our next game tonight is a battle between two Southern conference foes as The Citadel (12-9, 11-6 ATS) looks to get revenge against Mercer (13-9, 7-12 ATS). In the first meeting between both teams, Mercer crushed the Citadel by a score of 83-63 while shooting 53.7% from the field than the Citadel, who shot 33.3%. Considering Mercer ranks 256th in defensive efficiency and The Citadel ranks 132nd in offensive efficiency. I find it very unlikely that Mercer will replicate its dominant defense from game one. Citadel, who normally shoots 45.8% from the floor, should find a much easier time scoring tonight against Mercer, who struggles at home. In seven conference home games, Mercer is 0-7 ATS and has allowed 76.1ppg. I am expecting The Citadel to keep it close tonight.
Chicago Bulls (-1) at Houston Rockets
For our final game tonight, I am taking another stab at the NBA. The Chicago Bulls have been one of the best road teams in the NBA all season ATS. The Bulls have a record of 10-4 ATS and have won eight of those games. Tonight they are up against the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have lost seven straight and are dealing with key injuries. The Rockets will still be without their star PF/C Christian Wood and will most likely be without their star SG Victor Oladipo who is listed as doubtful tonight. It’s also worth noting that their C Demarcus Cousins is listed as questionable with a sore right heel. The Bulls have been on a bit of a hot streak (four wins in their last six), all thanks to the incredible play by Zach Lavine. In those six games, Lavine is averaging 34.5ppg, 6.5rpg, and 4.3apg. My money tonight is on the much hotter and healthier Chicago Bulls.
