Wake’s Season Record: 17-10 (+3.81 units)
Yesterday’s Picks:
Winnipeg Jets -1.5 (+110) ✅
Blackhawks ML (-115) ❌
Flames/Canucks Over 6 (-115) ❌
The Chicago Blackhawks are terrible at hockey. They allowed 4 goals in the last 12 minutes of last night’s game, blowing a 4-2 lead and losing in regulation. Literal. Pain. I’m 2-4 in my last two days. I’m 5-4 in my last three. And tonight we have another dumb two-game slate, just like Wednesday night. If I go worse than 2-1 tonight, I’ll officially declare myself on a cold streak. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though.
I didn’t mean to have this article include three totals, but that’s what happens when one of these same matchups burns you just two days ago. The wound is still very, very fresh.

Bruins/Rangers U5.5 (EVEN)
SOUND THE ALARMS! I’M BETTING AN UNDER! I’M BETTING AN UNDER! I really like the Under in tonight’s game between the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers. I hate betting unders in hockey. Knuckle pucks, empty netters and refs giving away free power plays… Unders never sit right with me. But on Wednesday night when these teams played, I was never so sure that an under would hit. It took more than 10 minutes for either team to register 3 shots on goal. Panarin should be out with a lower body injury. Igor Shesterkin will be between the pipes, and he’s been worlds ahead of Georgiev this year. I’m kind of a math guy, so I made up this equation:
The Same Teams That Scored 5 Goals Two Nights Ago
+
A Better Goalie
–
An Elite Goal Scorer
=
My First Under Bet Of The Year
It’s science.
Rangers U2.5 Goals (-125)
At best Panarin will play with a lower body injury tonight, but there’s a solid chance he misses the contest. He leads the team in goals, assists and points. With 15 points, he’s contributed to 48.4% of the New York Rangers’ goals this year, and that doesn’t include the goals he’s just been on the ice for. Without him, there’s a world where the rangers don’t score a goal. I had the Bruins regulation moneyline (-120) here, but to be honest, I think this bet is much safer, even though the odds are nearly identical.
Blues/Coyotes O5.5 Goals (EVEN)
If I’m betting an under, I have to compensate and get an over in here too. Thanks to Gary Bettman’s ineptitude, the St. Louis Blues and Arizona Coyotes will face off for the fifth time this year already. At least we have a big sample size (relatively speaking) to work with here, right? Three of the four previous matchups hit the over, and those three games have one thing in common: Jordan Binnington. He’s not a bad goalie by any means, but he’s allowed at least 3 goals in every game against Arizona this year. Also, these are two of the top six teams in the NHL when it comes to hitting the over. I expect the over to be 4-1 in this series by tonight’s end.
